When it comes to beauty, we all want to look our best. We want to have terrific skin and look effortlessly beautiful. With a few simple makeup tips, we can all have the look that suits us best. Everyone has different skin, different colors, different tone, and different needs, so each person will generally accentuate different things.
When applying makeup, we always need to remember that our natural beauty is waiting to be discovered, and we just need a few simple tools to help accentuate it, not a lot of heavy caking to hide it. In most cases, with makeup – less is more!
Choosing Foundation Makeup
To start with, one of the best makeup tips is to get a nice foundation. The foundation can be powder or liquid or a combination of both. We always think about choosing the right shade, and the best shade to choose is one that matches the color of the inside of your wrist. This reflects our true skin color.
When applying foundation, if using a liquid, apply small dots of liquid foundation on your fingertips to the cheeks, under eye area, nose, chin area and on your neck and forehead. Then gently rub it in, again, using delicate motions using your first and middle fingers. When you get to your undereye area, gently dab the foundation in until it is well blended.
If using a powder foundation, or mineral foundation, use small amounts of powder on your brush, and in circular sweeps go across the same areas- nose, cheeks, neck, forehead. It is very important to make sure that you have it well blended between your neck and hairline so that you don’t have a gap or streaking of color.
Applying Blush
Blush has a lot of great uses, and you can use it in more areas than just the cheek. However, when using it on your cheeks, make sure to apply it to the top of your cheekbone and only go half way to the nose. Lightly apply the blush so that there is not heavy streaking, as the goal should be natural. You can also apply lightly colored blush to the sides of the nose, to give the illusion of depth, and also to the bottom of your chin, to give a little softness to the remainder of the facial area.
Eye Makeup Tips
Eyeshadow and mascara are nice finishing touches. Eyeshadow applied lightly with one light shade over the entire eyelid, and a little darker of the same shade just on the bottom lid will give a nice natural appearance. Mascara is used to bring it all together. Mascara can be worn lightly, to give fullness to your lashes, or a bit heavier to make your eyes pop and really stand out with definition.
Your mascara should always be nearly the same color of your eyelashes, unless you go for a dramatic look, then you can go with colored mascara, or glitter mascara, which both are great for evening wear. Eyelash extensions can also help extend the length and thicken your eyelashes, and you can apply very dramatic extensions.
All you really need is a few good brushes, an eye shadow brush, blush brush, blending brush, and a few great makeup products. Remember to always bring your best face forward, and the best face is the always the natural one with the cleanest and finely done look.
