In the many cycles of boom and bust, the boom that started around the year 2000 was a doozy! So it makes perfect sense that the bust which followed was also a doozy! It appears as if housing prices in the United States peaked some time in the 2006-2007 timeframe, and by 2008 they were in a freefall. The crash was so severe that it brought down the financial markets of countries around the world. It was a truly epic crash!

I am writing this in early 2011 and things seem to have bottomed out, but the patient is in a coma. Foreclosure sales are still at a record pace, although new foreclosure filings seem to have leveled off. Prices haven’t moved much, and new home building hasn’t been this low in decades.

I think this makes it a good time for people to re-evaluate the entire concept of home ownership. But if you have your heart set on a home, perhaps you should reconsider tying up all of your net worth with a box in the suburbs, surrounded by millions of other boxes. Maybe this would be a good time for you to look into micro cabins!

Now the wife and I just got out of our albatross of a house and are getting ready to hit the road for some traveling. But if and when we decide to finally settle down I really do love the whole concept of owning a small cabin out in the woods somewhere! Micro cabins are small (as you may be able to tell by the word ‘micro’ in the name) but are designed so efficiently that you might never notice. Claustrophobia is offset with spacious lofts and windows and roomy porches. But all this comes with a price — a CHEAP price! I just saw a set of plans to build a 16×20 cabin for $4000! Good grief, my last home builder charged me twice that much just to add room for an extra car in the garage.

If you want to find out more about these wonderful little homes here are a few places you can do some more research:

* Tumbleweed Tiny House Company – This company can do it all for you. They have a book, they have workshops, and they have lots and lots of tiny house plans.

* Tiny House Designs – This is a leading source for all things tiny – they may not use the term ‘micro cabins’ specifically, but they have everything under the sun when it comes to living in small, inexpensive spaces. I especially like their Solar SaltBox Plans!

* Penny Pincher Barns – These folks sell all-inclusive kits for every kind of small living structure you can imagine. They call their cabins ‘mini’ but I think we’re in the ballpark…

And here are the two extremes in this particular category:

* House In Montana - These people are pushing the limit of the word Micro with these behemoth cabins. 1024 Square Feet! Hardly anything micro about that! They also come with one acre of land and cost $189,000.

* Nine Tiny Feet – Yes, you read that right – nine square feet! Several different design ideas here, including one on wheels and an actual by-god MICRO cabin!

If you want to save some money on your next set of tires you will need to do some research before you drive into your local tire store. Otherwise you will get stuck in that familiar pattern and end up paying more than you really wanted. You know how it goes. You get to the front counter, someone shows you some tires, you pick the cheapest ones, they don’t have them in stock, you pick the next cheapest, then the salesman points out how this *really good* tire is only a few dollars more, on special. You start feeling peer pressure because there are people in line behind you so you just say “OK” and pull out your wallet and start the process of convincing yourself that you really did get a good deal.

Ask me how I know.

If you want to avoid the usual, if you want to avoid spending almost $700 on a set of tires for a little sub-compact, then you need to be prepared and you need to give yourself time. I love to use Discount Tire because it is convenient and they really do have good service. I have had many flats fixed or repaired over the years, and air pressure, rotation and balancing are all included when you buy your tires from them. And they usually give a decent discount when you bring in a set of tires that may have worn down ahead of their normal warranty numbers. And yet I really did spend nearly $700 for my last set of tires, which will have maybe 500 miles on them when I sell the car this month. No, I didn’t do my research, did I?

Your first problem here is the vast amount of tires that are available. Dozens of manufacturers and brand names are out there, and each one of these has a bewildering array of sizes and types and tread patterns. The easiest choice is whether to buy a passenger car or truck tire. Once you are past that, you need to think about the weather where you live. Dry weather and wet weather have different needs, but all tires need to be able to handle water on the road. The farther north you live, the more you need to consider all-weather or winter tires. And if this vehicle regularly goes off of the pavement, that’s another entire category of tires. After that, most of the choices are marketing hype and prices and mileage warranties.

A good place to start is Consumer Reports. They do unbiased testing on tires. You will have to pay, but you can purchase an online subscription and keep it for 30 days for under $10, well worth it to help you narrow down your choice for cheap tires. As recently as October of 2010 Consumer Reports showed that even a good ultrahigh performance tire could be found for around $100. They also noted that prices differed from outlet to outlet and, seemingly, week to week.

Or maybe the question should be “Should you try to save money on tires?” I ask this because I am becoming a bit of a tightwad cheapskate as I get older. Up until recently I would never have considered anything but brand new tires for my vehicles. My only attempt to keep the price reasonable was to look for an advertisement for a sale price, or perhaps a rebate. Back when we owned motorcycles I ordered tires online for some savings. But other than that we didn’t really do anything drastic. And then I purchased a set of brand-new tires for my little Kia Rio and was given a bill of over $600. Holy cow!

To make matters worse, shortly after this astounding purchase we decided to pull the trigger on a long-anticipated purchase of a truck for our eventual RV plans. We got it very used and very cheap, but it at least had decent tread on the used tires. However, I will probably replace them by the time we start hauling our trailer around just to start off with the best tread possible. But this time I am going to find cheap tires! No, not cheap in quality, cheap in price, especially since this is a large 4×4 truck. Have you ever priced truck tires? Good grief!

So far I have found at least one good source of cheap tires online, and that is TreadWright.com – they sell retreads! I can replace my big fat off-road tires for about $100 apiece. No, I’m not kidding. No, wait, before you start spewing all of the tired cliches you’ve ever heard about retreads, keep in mind that they probably aren’t true. Yes, big rigs use retreads, almost exclusively. No, all those blown-out pieces of tire tread you see all over the nation’s highways aren’t from those retreads. They are mostly likely due to under-pressured tires. Besides, if retreads were so bad, why would Goodyear and Michelin make or authorize them and sell them with a warranty?

So there ya go. Cheap tires. Safe tires. Not mutually exclusive!

One of the most important pieces of furniture in each office will be at the conference table. As the name implies, it is very important for corporate conferences and meetings. Many times in the past I have had small meetings with customers or big brainstorming events at the conference table. One of the first things we found out as a company about our conference table was that we have a piece of furniture that was just too small for all types of meetings that were held on it. But it turned quite often that there is never enough room for all the papers and got passed around from spreading. Also, there was enough room for more chairs on the occasions we invited someone into the office to give a presentation. And especially if they brought along support staff. So make sure you select the size you want, and then go up to at least the next size.

Art and design on the table also makes a difference.

If you have a table for 12 or more, consider the advantages of a boat shaped conference table. With the curves on each side, each shall report to the table a good view on the process without a crane. A small table can easily form the racetrack conference table, since it allows an extra chair or two on its rounded ends. Then there is bowtie shaped tables, but I have found these tend to be people sitting at the ends you cut the call. A folding table conference is to go when you are limited to office space. Able to a store room, canteen, or even a gym in a meeting room at a moments notice allowing a folding conference table in any room in a company a multi-purpose function. Folding and storage, once the session is over can be annoying and we found it necessary, this was limited to certain employees prior to the meeting or otherwise a person to delegate this task as usual on the left. But a folding table certainly has its merits, if you do not have a permanent meeting room. Do you need a very large room when you can have a round table for 12 or more people, but small, round conference tables look great, require little space and are perfect for 4 to 6 people.

If you entertain clients in your office, you need a table that looks like quality and success. Nothing will give a bad impression to the guests as much as very cheap looking conference tables. Go for solid, polished wood finish rich. Nothing shows the confidence the company has more than a well designed, solid wood table. But in order for the conference table are used for many purposes, have a look at some of the vinyl or polyurethane coatings.

Along with a nice shiny expansive conference table, give a thought to your chairs as well. You can sit at the table for longer sessions so find a style that looks good. So when it’s time to choose either your first conference table (This alone can be great fun) or upgrade to a new table, your choice could lead to the table of your dreams or a total nightmare, so choose wisely. You get what you pay for, so make sure your choice is both a practical and attractive addition to your workplace. You can read more about the design and size of conference tables on the internet.

Data is something that is stored on all our computer systems, and at times we would like to share with others. We all choose different ways of sharing our data, mainly we choose the ways that we are comfortable with doing. The good news is that there are numerous ways where we can send our data to someone else, whether they are in the same room, next door, or on the other side of the world. We live in the information age, and the sharing of information is the driving force behind this.

The Internet is probably the most common method of sharing, not just our files, but also our ideas, thoughts, and certainly opinions. From bloggers to reporters to celebrities to just about anyone under the sun, we have all exchanged our thoughts and opinions with others. We have all sent an attachment, or two through e-mail, which allows us to share our data easily and at the blink of an eye.

Offline, one of the popular methods of sharing data is through the use of flash drives. USB flash drives are preferred for sharing data because of a number of reasons. First, they are small in physical size so are easy to carry around. Second, they can contain gigabytes of storage space so you can save quite a bit of data on them. Third, they are fairly cheap to purchase, and can be bought pretty much in any store that sells electronics. You may even find certain social event, like conferences, where vendors give away flash drives for free. If security is an issue, some companies make flash drives that also include encryption to keep your data safe.

While CD and DVD discs are cheap to buy, and you can buy hundreds at a single time, they have limitations that USB flash drives overcome. Optical media need software to burn the data to the disc, and unless they are rewritable discs, you can’t delete the data to make room for new data. Also, unlike USB flash drives, CD and DVD discs can’t be encrypted to keep your data safe. You would need to encrypt your data before burning it to a disc.

If you are in a office environment, or even if you manage a local area network at home, you can also use a network storage server to store your data. This allows you to easily open your data on multiple computers that are connected to the same network as the server. This allows you to provide a common location for you data, while at the same time reduces your backup maintenance as you only need to backup the one server. For easily creating such a storage device, you can purchase a network attached storage device, NAS for short, which is a box that contains an operating system used to manage the data. All you need to do is add the hard drives, which are fairly cheap. You simply connect the NAS device to your network and you have a storage server for your data.

Whether you are online, at home, or in the office, there are many ways that you can use to share your data. Which method you choose depends on your situation, and your data sharing requirements.

One of the hardest things to deal with when it comes to plumbing are sweating copper pipes. This is because most Americans are in the dark on how to deal with copper pipes — and in the absence of a clear understanding of how copper pipes work, most people opt to just hire a professional plumber for these specific concerns. However, there are several plumbing tips that can actually make you equipped with the necessary know-how when it comes to these particular problems. These are some of the helpful plumbing tips that you can learn from:

For general information, sweating actually happens when copper pipes are joined with solder. Doing this is actually simple if you get it right in your first attempt; however, if you make a mistake, it might be harder for you to fix it later on. In order to do it right, you need to thoroughly clean the pipes, and you have to use the right kind of torch, solder, and flux. You also have to be extra sure not to have water in the pipes, because this can prevent the pipes from heating up enough so you can melt the solder.

The first of these plumbing tips is cutting the pipes. When you cut these copper pipes, it is much more preferable to use a pipe reamer rather than a hacksaw. This is because a reamer often leaves a beveled edge surface without the usual metal shards and burrs that can prevent the pipes from fitting together perfectly. A reamer can also better guarantee a watertight seal. Then you ream the pipes by tightening the tool over the pipe, and then rotate it by 360 degrees later on. Remember that you need to tighten it some more, and you need to continue rotating as well. If the blade will cut deeply enough in the copper’s surface, then the pipe will easily separate.

When it comes to cleaning these sweating copper pipes, it is essential to use a wire brush to remove the layer of copper that is oxidized, as well as to de-burr the cut pipes’ ends. Meticulous cleaning is your best assurance that your sweat copper pipes would not eventually leak. Moreover, several pipe cutter products have wire brush add-ons that’s specifically for this purpose. After you have polished and de-burred the pipe, you then need to spread acid-free flux on both the fitting and the pipe as preparation for soldering. Moreover, besides preventing oxidation and priming the copper, flux cleans the pipe well, too.

Of course, these plumbing tips would not be complete if it does not disuss the soldering part of the process. You first need to attach the fitting to the pipe — and using a torch, you need to heat the joint. You have to make sure though that you do not go overboard, because overheating can often oxidize copper and create a leaky joint. You need to heat the pipe joint until the solder starts to bubble up and then spit. When your solder starts to melt, take away the torch’s flame, and then move the solder’s tip around the joint. By doing this, your melted solder will then be drawn into the joint because of capillary action.

It’s that easy.

To most people, Christmas evokes memories of family and tradition. No other holiday instantly connects with the thoughts of days of yore and Christmases past except, perhaps, Thanksgiving. The times, they may be a-changin’, but Christmas will always be memory-laden. The Christmas tree, itself, is a paean to the past as each decoration is one memory or connection to a memory. And, when many people decorate with those memories, they often prefer to use traditional vintage Christmas lights.

True, prior to electric lights, people actually used real burning candles to brighten up the greenery. That method was used for many years and it looked great. While certainly providing better and more sentimental lighting, it was soon considered to be too dangerous and probably contributed to the advent of Fire Departments and firetrucks. In the end, it was deemed far better to utilize electric lights, thus being able to greet the new year with the home still intact.

Subsequent Christmas lights were made with the earlier candles in mind. They were larger and brighter, and they were shaped like candles. They definitely evoked the memory of real candles and their glow, surrounded by fake “snow”, seemed to bring out the best in Christmas greetings cards and as seen through a window. Their prominence in traditional Christmases is iconic and endearing. The candles in themselves have become another great traditional symbol of the festive season.

However; it must be said that even those lights had their flaws. The heat generated from those vintage Christmas lights also caused fires when placed too close to the wrong kind of decoration or tinsel. And, the electricity required was more than contemporary Christmas lights require. What’s more, often, when decorating the tree, a light bulb would break off. Replacing them could be tricky if the metal “stem” was still in the socket. If you didn’t unplug the cord, you were in for a shock. And, even if you did the dutiful unplugging, you then had to wrangle the “stem” out by gentle means, indeed, or fingers got cut and the potential for blood-poisoning came into the picture. They were beautiful, yes, but still dangerous and expensive. That being said, there are still traditional style Christmas lights available. They are now made safer, but still have that vintage Christmas lights look to them. And, they still summon old-fashioned Christmas greetings when displayed with old-fashioned decorations.

The newer, more contemporary light bulbs are usually much smaller, more easily replaced, and use much less electricity, besides being less likely to invoke firetrucks. They have acquired a certain charm in their tininess; resembling stars instead of candles. Some people will mix the two styles for yet an entirely different look. Yet, again, some people choose to not have any lights at all! So, put that in your stocking and hang it!

No matter how you trim your holiday, Christmas trees will always be a treasured fixture for Christmas, be they made of pine, fir, or tinfoil. Just be cautious about the electrical concerns. Yule be glad you did!

Your bedroom is the only place where you can feel free of all your duties and have a tension-free and relaxing time. A large and comfortable bed is another very important thing that every person wants in his or her bedroom, and sometimes people spend a lot of money on it. Choosing the right bed is also pretty important. If you choose an inappropriate bed for your bedroom, you may not feel much comfort. Everyone should spend 6-8 hours every night in bed during sleep and a good bed is very important for this. If you’re using an uncomfortable bed, then you may have back pain, neck, injections, etc. When you wake up in the morning, you should feel good, not bad. If you can not even get fully refreshed after spending the night in a bed, that is a sad story. Now that is why you need an adjustable bed.

Adjustable beds can be powered manually or electrically. Manually operated beds usually have a hydraulic mechanism that raises and lowers the bed. This movement may feel abrupt, as the bed is raised. The control center is often a foot pump on the edge of the bed. It can not be used by the user at all times. Some electric beds can be controlled by the passengers. This means that he or she can choose the most appropriate height for entry and exit from the bed, sometimes with little or no assistance. Some electric beds can be controlled by the passengers. This means that he / she can choose the most appropriate height for entry and exit from the bed, sometimes with little or no assistance. They can be adjusted to change the shape or profile of the bed in accordance with human needs. Users can adjust the bed so that they remain in a stable comfortable sitting position as your knees are placed in the form of a break. Four or five under beds tend to be more convenient than the three sections.

Hospital beds are almost always adjustable, because most hospital beds are designed to maneuver in several ways while maintaining support for the patient. It is important that these beds be durable and comfortable, as they will carry the weight of several different sizes of individuals and be called upon to perform a variety of medical duties. These hospital beds are available from various stores. These beds are great because they allow for greater comfort and functionality and they are durable.

Before you go out and buy one, you want to be sure to compare several models and choose the one that will meet the needs of your family both now and in the future as those needs may change over time. The main thing that you should remember when buying adjustable beds is that each model has its specific features that help you enjoy a good night’s sleep, which is the most important factor here. When you examine the different styles of adjustable beds, you should keep in mind these important points. Now what are you waiting for? Go buy an adjustable bed or mattress today!

Bunk beds are one of the great ways to make the most of your children’s bedroom space. Kids absolutely love bunk beds, there are various types of bunk beds, and they are so much fun. The parents love the fact that they save space and allow them to have more than one child in a single bedroom. Although bunk beds are one of the good things you can get for your children, there are some safety precautions that you need to take into consideration. Those who have children on bunk beds need to be aware that abuse, or misuse of these beds can cause injury to your children. You must ensure that your children are safe on the bunk beds.

If you are looking for children beds, bunk beds are one of the major options nowadays. Your children will enjoy and love their bunk beds because they can have a lot of fun playing on them. For parents, their children’s bunk beds and some of the benefits are that they have a good shape, two children can be in one room and they maximize space in their kids bedrooms. Bunk beds take up less space than the single bed so that your child can have more room to play in and many children will be able to sleep in one room.

There are some things that should be in the consideration about your children’s bunk beds that have the top bunk bed safety rail, its safe and all his top bunk bed or open at the sides. It can be very dangerous for children so parents have to be confident and see that there is no gaping between the top of the mattress and bottom of the rail, because children can fall through the gaps of bunk beds.

The upper bunk bed safety rail must be high, it should be at least 10 cm above the top of the mattress. The safety rail, which is 3-5 cm high, is not good enough, and it can cause accidents, another option is the double safety rail, which will be great and more secure. There are different types of children beds like futon bunks, metal bunk beds, triple bunk beds, white bunk beds, wooden bunk beds, pine bunk beds, bunk bed desks, etc.

The mattresses for beds are available in various colors, designs and patterns that parents must ensure that it fits the bunk beds size and matches its style. If you are about to buy a bunk bed, never go for the bunk beds that have a loose board for the mattress on the top bunk, as this can be very dangerous for whoever is at the lower bunk. You can also get bunk beds that can be easily separated and combined with loose boards, which are replacing the mattress to rest have set. But there are disadvantages with them too, if it pushes a child underneath the board then the mattress and the top board can fall on the child. Therefore, it is better that you go online and look for the safety of a bunk bed you plan to get for your child. Research well so you and your children will be excited and happy beds.

When purchasing a bunk bed, there is a huge range of choices to choose from. Prices range from economy models, which, of course, are very simple and functional beds with no frills, and then you have the luxury bunk beds, which include hand-painted art, or those that have built-in cabinet, or shelves.

Your decision should be based on your budget. There is no point in going to look at expensive luxury beds, or those with extra luxuries, if you only have enough for the usual bed. Then check to see if the bunk beds you need are for adults or children. If they’re adults, you must ensure that they are wide enough and long enough, adults can often find a version of the child bunk bed is too short or narrow to be comfortable. The only advantage of children’s bunk beds is that they take up less space, I strongly advise that even if you buy these beds for children, you still get the adult size, as children, will soon become higher and higher, and need more sleep, or you might be willing for adult guests to use them. It should not really affect the price much.

If the bunk bed bunk bed is just for you, and you have enough room wardrobe, shelves, units, etc. in the bedroom and then go for something that is simple and cheap. This will save money and the average room will not be all crammed with furniture. But if you do not have closets, drawers and shelves then it is a good idea to get a bed that has these features in it. Quite often you can get boxes and shelving space under the bed so that it takes no more space, this is a good idea if you live in a city and live in small apartments.

You can get bunk beds where you have a bed and another one on top, or you can have only one bed, with a wardrobe, cupboard or shelf space at the bottom. If you are very limited in area and need to put up at least two people, then you probably need a bunk bed that the system has two beds. If you have more space, and it’s only for one person, but perhaps the need to store clothing and other items, then I would suggest that bed with built-in cupboard space below is ideal.

Sometimes the boys like the idea that their bed is for them only, so they decorate them with an image of Superman, airplanes, cars, etc. Sports can also be very popular with them. But there again I remember how old they are and that they might grow out of such as a bed in a few years. If you already have a bed, will it be better to replace it or just leave it alone? Well, if your bunk beds are in good shape, then I suggest waiting a while before you get another one. Boys often prefer blue and girls prefer pink colors. If you are not sure whether there will be a boy or a girl sleeping in bed, then choose a neutral color like beige or tan.

To Buy or Not to Buy: That’s the Question

Diverse and unique scenery presenting an even more diverse choice of activities for everybody. A superb coastline for beach lovers, amazing landscapes for nature lovers, mountains and seas for the sports and adventure lovers. All that from the country dubbed as the most beautiful in Europe. There are just a few good reason to buy real estate in France, but what else should you consider?

The French make the search for the good life a very serious endeavor. There is nothing like France in the world, there is a thrilling blend of natural beauty, culture, custom, complexity and fashion. As a holiday destination, or a permanent home, France is way ahead of its competitors. It has a wide choice of competitively priced properties. It also has a generally fine weather condition all year round particularly in the southern parts.

People have a wide range of reasons for buying a French property. Some buy a holiday home aiming to live there permanently or partially when they retire. If the intent is to use the property for several weeks, it is generally wiser not to buy. But if the investor wants to work or do business in France you are faced with a different set of problems to answer. A growing number of people live in France and work in neighboring country, regularly traveling by road, rail or air.

Buyers should not anticipate making a speedy profit but rather look at it as an investment in the family’s future pleasure. It is also imperative that prospective investors study their reasons more closely before making a decision to buy. Do you really have the money to buy a property now or in the future? Do you have a steady source of income largely unaffected by currency fluctuation and inflation? Many foreigners opted to buy holiday homes in France during the 1980’s. They took second mortgages on their family homes projecting that property prices would appreciate faster than interest charges and were left with big losses when the recession hit driving property prices down and pushing interest payments up. Banks repossessed their mortgages or they were obliged to dispose at huge loss when they could no longer pay.

Property prices are rising faster than inflation in a good number of locations but we are not sure if that will persist. Another thing to consider is; unless you downgrade your standard of living, selling your primary residence will only result in a paper profit. Capital gains tax meanwhile can also eat away any profit made on the sale of a second home.

To buy or not to buy. That’s the question. Examine your true reasons for buying. Evaluate your capacity to pay. Study property trends and ask for professional advice. Only then can you arrive at the best decision for you. To start your search begin in the highly popular South of France, in particular the Languedoc Roussillon region is a great choice now that Provence is so overpriced. Property for sale in the Pyrenees Orientales is unlikely to ever fall dramatically in price give it’s ideal location by the coast and on the border with Spain.

The summer is the favourite season for most people because of all the opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors. There are so many chances to have fun outside and the possibilities are only limited by your imagination. Once the kids get out of school many families rush to their local beach or camping site to enjoy nature in the best weather possible. The sunshine really helps to raise a person’s mood and there seems to be a much greater general sense of fun and adventure. Everyone should take the time to get outside in the summer months, but it’s also important never to take the sun for granted. Its powerful rays can actually do a lot of damage if you aren’t careful so it’s always important to respect that fact. By all means go outside and get some exercise or go for a relaxing swim, but never forget about preventative measure to ensure you don’t get burned.

The sun’s rays provide for the necessities for life so it’s no wonder that they are so powerful. Some people love to get out and tan to get that bronzed looked that is so prized in today’s society. But you should always do that in moderation as too much tanning can result in long term damage for your skin in the future. On an aesthetic level, it’s important to protect yourself from the sun to prevent dry skin, wrinkles, and signs of aging. But on a deeper level, you must always use sun tan lotion and cover up other areas of your body to prevent the formation of skin cancer. And don’t forget about sunglasses because the sun’s rays can have a powerful impact on your vision, especially if you are exposed to direct UV radiation or the reflective glare off of water.

To keep you skin healthy and avoid problems like blemishes, you will want to drink lots of water during the summer and use moisturizing acne treatments. This will keep you hydrated while maintain your body chemistry to help get rid of acne. Direct exposure to sunlight can really promote oil formation on your face so you want to make sure to wash your face well to get rid of blackheads and blockages in your pores. Also consider a nice toner to keep your pores in shape, and don’t forget about the occasional exfoliant to remove dry skin cells. The summer may only come once a year, but if you add up all the exposure during a course of a lifetime, the damage can really add up. So you want to make sue to allow your skin to regenerate by limiting exposure and getting enough rest at night. After all, you plan to enjoy the summer for many years to come so there’s no sense in hurting your skin just for the sake of a tan that will only last a few months. With proper preparation and safety in mind, you can develop a healthy relationship with the sun that keeps you healthy for years to come.

Addiction can take many forms and in most, if not all, forms it is detrimental to personal growth and fulfilment. Just as one may be addicted to alcohol, drugs, sex etc., one may also be addicted to a person. This person may be one’s parent, spouse, child or friend. Addiction to a person may be the most dangerous of all especially if one is in an abusive relationship. Even otherwise, being addicted to a person and not being able to get out out of it will surely cause suffering and drain you physically and mentally. It is important to know how to know how to break your addiction to a person in order that you may break out of your dependence on that person and get a bit closer to that elusive thing called happiness. Of course, the best way to quickly and safely get rid of any addiction is to contact a professional counselor or psychiatrist but this article is in the hope that it may guide you in the right direction.

The first step in overcoming any addiction is to realize and accept that you have an addiction. It is extremely natural for you to initially deny your addiction saying that your relationship with that person cannot be termed as addiction, that you can be without that person if you WANT to. But as long as you are in denial, no one will be able to help you as you will see all attempts at helping you as an attempt to sabotage your relationship. So when your loved ones tell you that you have become too obsessed and dependent on a person, understand that it is time that you changed your perspective on the whole thing. And the best way to do that would be to take some time off from your daily routine, at least for a day or two. This is sure to bring fresh perspective into your mind.

In order to break your addiction, it is important that you turn your mind away from the object of your addiction. Take up a new hobby or something that you have wanted to try but never have. Any change in scenery and activities will give you the much needed strength and confidence required to do what is required. Also, try to be conscious of your thoughts at all times. It will help you realize the level and extent of your addiction to the person. Actively try to keep your mind occupied in other things, find different subjects to think about; the more different your mind from your normal thought processes, the better. Last but not least, have confidence in yourself that you have the strength and determination to break out of the addiction.

If all seems lost or if the people who you know really love you ask you to get professional support, get help immediately. There is no point in letting your addiction grow further and making the whole process more painful than it should be.

Buying and driving on used tires has obvious advantages, mostly financial. They just cost less. Most people who criticize the use of used tires typically have two things in common. One, they can afford new tires! It’s difficult for them to wrap their minds around why anyone would ever even think about purchasing used tires when there are perfectly good new tires everywhere. Second, they think they are unsafe. And yes, a bald, threadbare tire isn’t particularly safe. But very few people would sell a tire like that, and very few people would buy one. Your typical sale of used tires involves only medium tread-wear.

I won’t fault you if you want to save money, but what about saving money while having a tire that has the same exact tread depth as a new tire? That is where retreads come in.

Retreads start with a used tire that is probably something you would consider buying yourself. But then they take that tire and inspect it. If approved, they buff a very thin layer off of the outside edge of the rubber and a computerized machine wraps a continuous ribbon of brand new truck rubber on it. The tire is then computer balanced, cured and given a new tread design. Once it cools off it is inspected and tested, taped up and shipped to the customer.

Of course, retreads have their own critics, but much of this criticism is either based on old technology or bad information. The January 2009 issue of Petersen’s 4Wheel & OffRoad magazine did a test on some retreads from Tread Wright, and in August JP Magazine had some really good things to say about them as well.

So maybe we should do a little real-world comparison, eh? Here is my completely unscientific, average Joe research into tire prices. And since I just bought a very used F350 I’ll use the tire size my beast came with, 285/75/R16.

For brand new prices, I’ll go with Discount Tire. I’ve been using them for years, and if I was in a pinch I’d go with them so this is a good test of what I would pay if someone held a gun to my head and said “Buy some new tires online right now or you die!” (ok, that’s a silly scenario, but hey – work with me here) LOL

Discount Tire has some Falken Ziex S/TZ-04 with a 50,000 mile warranty for $155 each. (they advertise a $50 rebate but the fine print reveals that it requires using their credit card) That is a road tire with a price of $620 for 4 (not counting extras that Discount Tire always charges). Their shopping cart tells me $741.98 including balancing, install, tire disposal fee and state sales tax.

Searching for used tires online proved to be very problematic. I couldn’t find any site with my size except for a couple of individual tires on eBay. $50 to $100 plus shipping. I will try to go buy a local shop that I see a lot for better pricing.

For retreads I found a nice tread for $99.40 each, or $124 including shipping. Not a total mud tire, but looks great for off-roading. No tax. I believe Discount Tire will give these a balance and install for around $15 a tire, maybe $25 max? Still, that comes to around $600 total. That difference is enough to get my attention!

I will write another article on this as soon as I get some more detailed pricing info.

What Is Acne?

Acne is a type of skin disorder which brings about skin eruptions as well as inflammations. It principally occurs during the teenage years or adolescent stage and as a matter of fact, it is suffered by nearly ninety percent of the entire young population all over the world. However, acne is not completely limited to teenagers alone as adults can also get plagued by them.

The Causes of Acne

It is generally thought that the increase in the production of natural oils as well as testosterone hormones that occurs within the body during the adolescent stage is responsible for the appearance of pimples, zits, blackheads and other forms of acne. However, other factors such as stress, bad hygiene, psychological disturbances and irregular eating habits may also cause acne formation.

The Trouble with Acne

Although acne is not really a serious or life threatening condition, their appearance can however, leave an unpleasant emotional impact on the young sufferer. It is during the adolescent stage wherein you start to become extra conscious with regards to your looks and being plagued by an acne problem can instantly ruin everything for you! Teenagers who are suffering from acne are likely to experience severe depression and manifest low self esteem and self confidence.

How to Treat Acne?

When it comes to treating skin disorders like acne, it would be best that you go for natural cures. Natural acne cures are not just cheaper, but they are also less likely to carry any adverse side effects.

Aloe Vera is an extremely effective natural cure for acne. The watery Aloe Vera gel is rich with enzymes and also contains very soothing anti bacterial and anti inflammatory properties. Aside from applying the gel topically, you can also take it internally and this will cleanse and detoxify your digestive tract, which in turn, helps clear up your skin.

Before you take a bath or shower, apply a blend or mixture that consists of fresh tomato pulp (real ones and not the packaged variants), rosewater and raw honey all over your facial skin. Let the mixture stay on your face for at least fifteen to twenty minutes and then go and take your shower. This simple mixture is just one of the many acne treatments at home that you can try out to eradicate your acne problem.

Another effective natural at home treatment for acne is the blend of fresh lemon juice, cream and glycerin. Apply this solution along your face and keep it there for a few minutes before rinsing it off with warm water. This is what will answer your concern of how to get rid of acne overnight!

Tea tree oil, which is an essential oil that is taken from the Melaleuca Alternifoliasis tree, is also great for clearing your skin of acne. Tea tree oil contains Terpenes, which are bacteria fighting compounds. Acne is usually brought about by bacteria and such substance either kills the acne causing bacteria or weakens them, making it a lot easier for your protective antibodies to wipe them out for good.

If you’ve ever attended any beach weddings, you know about some of the basic pitfalls that can befall the bride and groom and their guests. Whether you’re having a wedding on the east coast, west coast, or down south, there are few unique problems that you may run into. There are some special circumstances you should prepare for when tying the knot with your toes in the sand. Of the three main locations to have a beach wedding, these issues should be looked at and taken care of so the ceremony goes off without a hitch.

Couples having east coast and Florida beach weddings have some unique issues that California beach weddings don’t worry about so much. For one, rain. If inclement weather is inevitable for your beach ceremony, you may need to move it indoors. You should have somewhere close (and covered!) where all your friends and family can go to witness the wedding. Insects are also a problem at times, so pre-spray the area if possible or add those bug torches as part of your decor. You’ll also be dealing with the humidity if you’re in late summer. Hairdo’s and curls are majorly affected by the moist air, and even some fabrics and dresses.

Further south toward Georgia beach weddings and Florida beach weddings, you will also need to consider wind along with the above. Try bringing items to secure parts of your dress, such as fabric tape, clips for your hair, for your bridal veil, and for the bridesmaids dresses. If you are having any brochures about your wedding, like the listed order of service, weigh them down with big rocks or marbles. Windy and breezy conditions may also dehydrate you or your guests. Sun and heat are normally thought of as the guilty culprits, but wind is right up there with them. Supplying water for friends, family, and wedding party will keep everyone cooler and more comfortable.

If you’re planning California beach weddings, you’re in for an easier time. Most of the above items aren’t going to affect you, especially in the summer months. Of all the problems you could have for a wedding on the beach, the main west coast issue will be the freeways. Getting in and out of beach areas, especially on the weekend, will be difficult. Check the area to see how the traffic flows. You’ll have a harder time with traffic when planning Newport Beach weddings and Laguna Beach weddings than you will with San Diego beach weddings and Huntington Beach weddings. Still, if you’d prefer a ceremony start time of six, you should seriously consider putting on your invitations that the wedding starts at five-thirty. You can even use an odd time like 5:37pm to pique interest and really get your guests to the church (be it a beach church) on time!

Whichever coast you’re on, remember that you’re at the beach, so UV protection is imperative. You’ll need to use sunscreen on your arms and face. Don’t worry, apply it early and it will still protect you after it looks as if it is no longer on…which is really what you want anyway! Even providing sunscreen for your guests would be a good idea, if they will be exposed to the sun. Have plenty of water for everyone, too. Follow these tips and your beach weddings will be more comfortable for everyone.

Books- Voltaire and the woman who corrected Newton
David Bodanis’ book Passionate Minds relates to one of the most fascinating stories about Voltaire. It concerns his relationship with a woman who until recently had disappeared from history- Emilie du Chatelet, the woman who got Newton’s gravity equation into its modern form. This was the age of the “Enlightenment” in pre-revolutionary France. Book printing was potentially dangerous, and offending France’s venal aristocracy was likely to be painful.

Voltaire is well known for his various clashes with the French social order, and it’s an irony that perhaps the only person ever to pose a real foil for Voltaire on an intellectual level was a female aristocrat. Du Chatelet was unique in terms of her mental attributes, and was a virtual outcast in the brainless circles of French aristocracy for that reason. She eventually married the Marquis du Chatelet, and settled uncomfortably into the environment of vacuous entertainments of her class. Meeting Voltaire, however, changed all that, permanently.

The meeting of these two minds resulted in an affair lasting over a decade. Affairs were common, and as long as no embarrassment was suffered by the nobles concerned, all was well. Voltaire and Emilie moved into the dilapidated Chateau de Cirey in Champagne and completely refurbished it. Emilie’s exposure to Voltaire soon gave her the confidence to reassert her original mental character. With some of the inevitable bumps of any relationship, Voltaire discovered that he’d met an extraordinary woman, certainly the most important woman in his life.

Voltaire was probably secretly as amused as aghast to find that his beloved Emilie was a prodigy in mathematics. It’s a testimony to Emilie’s effect on Voltaire that at one point they were competing with each other for a science prize. Voltaire, who could and occasionally did breeze through life with a few quips, and was evasive enough when it suited him, was actually challenged intellectually. They came in neck and neck in the prize awards. Voltaire had spared no expense, Emilie had used her mind and an upstairs room with a lens.

The relationship with Voltaire eventually ended, but Emilie was still working on her mathematics, despite a turbulent personal life and pregnancy. The study of Newton was the work of the true scientists of the day, and it was ultimately Emilie who discovered that Newton’s formula for gravity was flawed, and correlated the results of a range of experiments into a formula. She was the one who put the “squared” into the modern equation. That formula was the original basis of E=mc2.

Her findings were published in a booklet printing under the title Principes Mathematiques de la Philosophie Naturelle. Interestingly, while Emilie’s name faded from memory, her mathematics became (and still are) the accepted formula. The book was completed literally days before her death from childbirth.

Passionate Minds is one of those rare books which should not be put down at all. The relationship, conducted in the midst of Voltaire’s own extraordinary life, makes a mockery of fiction. Bodanis, whose works include the history of E=mc2, is an appropriate person to write this long overdue vindication of one of history’s most brilliant women. Voltaire grieved for her for the rest of his life.

To be successful in business these days, you almost have to have a great web site. Too many companies skimp in this area, figuring they can outsource the job to India, or better yet, just dump it on the IT guy whose real job is taking care of the servers. As you can imagine, this is a very shortsighted approach.

First off, it’s always better to work with someone local. If I’m building a small business in Denver, then you can bet I’m going to hire a Denver web designer! If you hire someone in another state, or worse, another country, you’re liable to end up with misunderstandings because you can’t set up a face to face meeting. To some extent, this is less true than it used to be due to the advent of tools like Skype, but face to face meetings can still be helpful. Additionally, outsourcing really isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. While you might be able to hire a brilliant, highly educated Indian for less than you could get a competent web designer for in the states, it will be a challenge to find someone who looks at things the same way Americans do and can write American-style. Designs and writing by people who speak English as a second language tend to look a little “off’ to a native speaker (I’m sure the reverse is true as well, when native English speakers try to do things in other languages) and even if people can’t tell why things seem off, they’ll know that they are.

Second, quality tends to win out in the long run. Yes, you could hire a 16-year-old to put together your new web site in WordPress, and if he knows what he’s doing and spends a reasonable amount of time on the site, it will even look pretty good. Just saved a lot of money, didn’t you? But web design is a lot more complicated than it used to be. Browsers generally fail silently when they see errors, meaning they just display the page as best as they can without giving you an error message; while this is correct behavior for the web (you don’t want your users seeing errors!), it also means that it’s easy for mistakes to slip through that could result in problems in the future, particularly if your site has security concerns (such as an e-commerce site). There are also a huge number of factors that a beginner is unlikely to be fully aware of, from SEO considerations to usability and accessibility concerns. Is your website compatible with screen readers? Are there auditory cues that won’t be available to someone with a hearing loss? Is your search box correctly positioned? These are all things that need to be considered with any business website, that someone who’s just concerned with making it look good may not be aware of. Is the website standards-compliant, or will it break when older versions of HTML are no longer supported? Does it work in all major browers, not just internet explorer and firefox? If you don’t know the answers to all of these questions, you need to!

Every home has a kitchen. If it didn’t have a kitchen then could it really be considered a home? Just because every home will have a kitchen doesn’t mean you have to live with the one that you are given. Remodeling the home has become more efficient than it has ever been. We will cover some basic steps that can help you design the kitchen of your dreams from deciding which theme to use through the layout phase and finishing with finding the right contractor. This will give you an idea of what to expect and hopefully show you can design your own kitchen.

Luxury fitted kitchens can be designed by using a Décor Beach and Image Gloss Black theme. Another design that will add a sleek look is with the Broadoak and Columbus theme that will give you a granite countertop to work on in the kitchen. Some people just want functionality and that is where Scope Calvados and Fairfield Beach come in. These two types offer an easy to maintain and clean laminate countertop. There are so many types that you are bound to find one that fits your vision. An image search on Google for these types will help you become more acclimated to them.

Once you have figured out what theme you would like to go for in the kitchen it is time to get an overall layout or plan put down on paper. This is where you must take into consideration how much room you have to work with and what you are going to fill up that room with. The materials you want to use and how much of those materials you think you may need. This is also the part where you consider how you actually work in the kitchen and then draw a layout of the cabinets and counters that will benefit your style of cooking.

The second step in drawing out the overall layout is to pencil in the appliances you plan on using. Most kitchens have a sink, dishwasher, refrigerator and a stove. The placement and type of appliance you are going to use will have a big impact on your design. Do you want a stove top only or do you need an oven with a stove top? Is the microwave going to be built into the cabinets or placed on the counter? Another tip to remember when placing appliances is that the sink, refrigerator and stove need to be in a triangle. This ensures that each of the major appliances is in the most efficient place possible.

Designing your dream kitchen doesn’t require you to be an architect or a builder for that matter. You are the designer and in being such you can tell the actual contractor what you want and it is there job to make your vision a reality. Of course a builder may suggest design elements that may work better and it pays to listen to their advice; after all they have done this once or twice. This is the part you really need to do your research. Getting a competent and trustworthy builder can be a challenge. Don’t just take the cheapest contractor but find the one that is reasonably priced and does quality work. One way to find out what type of work they do is to ask for references or to look them up on the Better Business Bureau’s website.

Once your kitchen is finally done you can sit back and enjoy all the hard work you put into it and the anxiety you had to go through with having the kitchen built. Now the hardest thing you have to plan out is if you want country kitchen curtains or regular curtains, or mini-blinds in the kitchen.

All teenagers look forward to the day that they take their drivers test and pass. They are free to drive without mom or dad and a whole new world opens up. This is a very exciting time in a teenager’s life; one that they often take for granted and abuse. At the same time, this becomes an extremely stressful time in the lives of parents with teen drivers. Every phone call in the evening when your teen is out driving causes you to cringe. Every knock on the door is a cause for concern until you see who is on the other side and can relax that it is not a police officer. Because of the excessive worry for teen parents, in this article, I will briefly discuss tips for parents with teen drivers that can ease the stress a little bit.

Haunting Statistics

It is the nightmare of every parent that their child is involved in an automobile accident. Your heart drops and then races as you rush to make certain that your child is ok. For many, a visit to the emergency room, treatment, and release is all their accident amounts to. On the other hand though, many teen drivers are tragically killed from simply being reckless and not being taught the proper rules of the road. According to the NHSTA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration), the leading cause of death among teenagers is automobile accidents. Something that could so easily be prevented has taken away many innocent lives. In fact, last year over 5,000 teens were killed while driving their own vehicle. Another 7,000 were seriously injured or killed when riding with a fellow teen driver. Furthermore, over 300,000 teenage drivers were injured when involved in an accident with other teen drivers. The statistics prove that something needs to be done about reckless teenage drivers. But where do we start?

Parental Role Models

The very first thing that a parent can do to ensure their child is safe is to become a role model for their child. Watch how you drive when you are behind the wheel, and chances are your teenager will pick up the same safety habits. Be certain that you follow strict traffic rules and drive the way you want your teen to drive. Always make sure you are wearing a seat belt, and make sure that all your passengers including your teen driver does the same. Don’t drive at excessive speeds down the highway and expect that your child will not follow in your footsteps and do the same. Explain to them the importance of working with the proper auto insurance providers, so that they have something they can rely on in the case of an accident. Parents are responsible for teaching their children the proper rules of the road to encourage safe teen driving.

Dangers of Using Cell Phones

The next step a parent should take is to ensure that their child is not using a cell phone to talk or text while they are driving. Cell phones have been responsible for many teen deaths because they are a major distraction. Explain to your child the dangers of being distracted and tell them what can happen if they use a phone while driving. Suggest that they keep their phones powered off the whole time that they are operating a motor vehicle. In fact, in most states it is illegal for a teen to use a phone to text or call while driving. If your child is caught using a phone and driving, you must do whatever it takes for them to understand it is wrong. Ground them, take their phone away, or better yet, take their keys. This is sure to get your point across.

Following these two steps will go a long way towards keeping your child safer on the road, and help you feel better as a parent each time they get behind the wheel.

When should we paint the house? Many people looking for home decorating ideas usually find that changing the colors of the walls is paramount. Some people paint the exterior walls just to modify the overall look and feel of the property. Some people find that it needs a lick of paint after x amount of years, and others paint it every year (similar to spring-cleaning) because they are just a bit more meticulous. But, when do we really need to paint the exterior of our homes?

If a dilapidated property is taken over, painting is a matter of great urgency. Normally it is usually possible to choose the time of year for repainting a house. Obviously, it is sensible to select a period when, as far as possible, the work will be most effective. With modern quick drying paints the situation is not as critical as it was a few years ago, but there are still certain times of the year that are better than others. As a general rule it is not a good idea to embark on exterior painting in winter. If paint is applied in frosty weather or during misty or foggy conditions when there is a film of moisture on the surface, the dried paint peels off fairly quickly. In any case, the drying of a paint film is seriously retarded by both the absence of daylight and by low temperatures. A shower of rain on the still soft painted surface will badly pit it, so that its appearance is ruined. The drying of paint is affected when the temperature drops below five Celsius, and under such conditions its ability to dry hard may be permanently impaired.

During the spring and early summer the temperature will be high enough to promote fairly rapid evaporation. This is a very important factor where moisture might have penetrated deeply into the fabric of a building, since it takes a long time for woodwork to dry out. If, for instance, the property has been neglected and redecoration delayed so that the paint film has perished, the woodwork, especially on exposed places like window sills, may have a absorbed a considerable quantity of water. Now, during spring there might be a long spell of warm, sunny weather. This is dangerous. Under these conditions the surface evaporation proceeds more rapidly than the water deep down in the wood can reach the surface. Therefore, the surface appears to be dry although h there is, in fact, still a considerable amount of water in the wood. This will almost certainly result in the paintwork blistering badly and it could cause the woodwork to rot. Similarly, textured walls rendered in stucco or concrete also appear deceptively dry, but the coat of masonry or emulsion paint applied on top might well flake off.

Once the time has arrived for repainting, there is no point putting it off. Delay, as all painters and decorators know, far from being an economy, leads to greater expense. With winter ruled out and spring uncertain, the best time for outdoor painting is clearly late summer or early autumn!

Painting an entire house requires some time and quite a bit of effort. It is a task that must be done properly and one that requires planning and patience. Painting services can terminate the problems that come along with doing this project on one’s own. These professional painting services understand the procedure of painting a house and have the expertise to do the task efficiently.

One of the most important things that house painting services can guarantee is the professional results. All proper preparations on the walls, woodwork, and ceilings will be completed. This even consists of the repair any drywall that may be necessary. They will fill holes, cover stains and remove chipped paints. These repairs promise that the completed creation will be smooth and even ensuring the look to be fantastic.

Another great perk from painting services is the efficiency and speed that the companies provide. The workers have experience and tend to have a short time frame in which they complete the project. Because the crew has completed this task time and time again, the process of moving the furniture, if it’s necessary, the preparation required to avoid damage, as well as the painting and clean up, will all be completed quickly.

Expertise is also very important when considering a massive project such as painting a house. Painting services have professionals who potentially have many years of experience in dealing with different applications, surface types, and brands of paint. They are aware of different painting techniques and the large array of paints available. These specialists know exactly what is needed to gain the best results and this knowledge is what helps in eliminating wasted time, as well as money.

This leads to another positive that house painting services offer which is saving money. Someone who isn’t familiar with painting an entire house may be unsure as to what supplies are necessary and how much of what is needed. Painting services have their own supplies and the cost of having a painting job completed in that manner usually just includes the paint and the time put into the job.

The crew is also covered by their insurance. The companies that they work for are licensed and bonded. Those companies have rules and regulations as to how business must be conducted. In layman’s terms, this means that if a mistake or an accident occurs, the homeowner is not held liable or responsible for what they had no control of. This may prove to be unnecessary, but in cases where injuries or accidents occur it can help to save the homeowner quite a bit of money.

Painting services can assure that the new paint job will look professional and great in a short amount of time. The homeowners will be at ease knowing that there are experts working to complete this large task, rather than conducting the physical labor themselves. It makes this daunting project something manageable which is always a plus.

Whether you want to thank existing clients or attract new ones, you can’t go too wrong giving away free gifts. Almost everyone appreciates getting a little present now and then, even if it’s only a coffee mug or a baseball cap, but some gifts are simply more useful than others. You can make your marketing venture a success by choosing gifts that your clients will use every day and that will draw your clients’ eyes to your logo on a regular basis.

1. Know Your Clients

Sally, a director of nursing at a large facility that was being courted by many hospice agencies, loved the book, The Thirty-Six Hour Day about Alzheimer’s care. She frequently bought copies to give to the families of Alzheimer’s patients. One of the hospice representatives found out about this. He promptly bought 25 new copies of the book, pasted a sticker featuring his hospice’s logo on each one, and took them to Sally to give to families. Not only were many families exposed to the hospice through this gift, but from that day on, Sally only referred patients to one hospice – all because the sales representative took the time to learn what would be really useful to his client.

Of course, not all promotional items need to be as individualized as the hospice representative’s gift to Sally. Just take a few moments to think about the things people use most often. In most office settings, for instance, sticky notes and decent pens are in high demand.

2. Brand Your Gifts

Make sure each present you give features your company name, contact information, and, if there is room for it, your logo. Giving someone an expensive pen or a thick pad of high-quality note paper doesn’t do you much good if the client forgets where the gift came from.

Since your gifts will have your company information on them, remember to purchase items that are medium to high quality. You don’t want clients associating you with a pen that falls apart and spurts ink on the second use.

3. Don’t Over-Spend or Over-Buy

The first time Shelley decided to buy pens to give to potential clients, she found a website that sold them at a great price. Then, as she was checking out, a pop-up appeared on the screen. For only fifty cents more a pen, she could add another color. More pop-ups appeared, and by the time Shelley had finalized her purchases, she had spent nearly $300 more than she had intended to. It’s easy – but expensive – to get carried away by extra offers, so before you purchase promotional gifts, know exactly what you want to buy and buy only what you selected in advance.

Similarly, don’t buy too many items. If your business moves to another location, changes phone numbers or ceases to operate, you don’t want to be stuck with a thousand note pads cheerfully proclaiming your dated contact information. Buy enough items for a couple of months at a time, and order more when you need them.

With a little common sense and planning, you should have no trouble finding promotional items that remind clients of your generosity and superior services and products every single day.

A properly balanced fat burning foods diet can help you burn fat more efficiently, lose larger amounts of fat, and aid you in getting in shape quickly. Eating foods that burn fat is also know as the thermogenic foods diet. The thermogenic diet means there are foods that require a large number of calories to digest them compared to what they contain. Other thermogenic foods enable you to burn body fat quicker than just exercise and standard dieting alone. The Thermogenic foods diet is a great diet because you do not have to starve yourself like other diets.

However, this is not really a diet, it is actually considered a lifestyle change. Once you are in that mentality it is easier to succeed. Diets set people up for failure all the time, but a lifestyle change is for life. You have to be willing to make the lifestyle change though because there is not much room for cheating with the thermogenic diet. You can start this diet off slowly and taper off the foods you are currently eating but the idea is to transition yourself to a lifetime of healthy eating and nutrition. Below is a list of fat burning foods you can incorporate into a thermogenic diet.

Hot Peppers – Peppers such as jalapenos, habaneras, and cayenne peppers will boost your metabolism and cause your body to burn fat quickly.

Eggs – eggs have been said to be an off limit food, but they are loaded with protein which keeps you full longer. The protein is difficult to digest; therefore your body works harder. In turn, this will again boost your metabolism.

Green Tea – this wonder tea has anti-oxidants that will rev up your nervous system to aid in burning calories. A great natural sweetener for green tea that is also loaded with key anti-oxidants is honey. Green tea is especially beneficial when shared with caffeine.

Skim Milk – although milk is said to be fattening, skim milk is fat-free and the calcium is a great metabolic booster. It also has the good carbs, which prevents the body from storing fat by lowering your insulin levels.

Beans – these power foods are chock full of protein, which will help you gain muscle. With a higher muscle mass, you will burn calories more efficiently. Beans such as baked or refried are not the healthiest alternatives, but others such as kidney or white beans will help your body not absorb fat.

Whole grain cereal – these are good sources of fiber, but they also have complex carbs, which will keep your insulin levels in check.

Oatmeal –this hot cereal can boost your metabolism by 10% and will fill you up while keeping insulin levels under control.

Olive Oil – this versatile oil helps bring down cholesterol and burns fat. This is an easy change, because you just replace it with your regular cooking oil.

Chicken – chicken is a great alternative to other meats and is full of protein. Look for healthy recipes so this food does not get too boring.

Pork –you need to go for the lean cuts, not the sausage and ribs. This food makes your body work to digest it; therefore it is an excellent fat burner.

Salmon –this fish is full of Omega-3 acids that will lower leptin levels and burn calories efficiently and quickly.
These are just a few examples of fat burning foods you can consume to lose weight and lower cholesterol and insulin levels in a healthy manner. You have to remember, this is for life so try a variety of these foods to keep it interesting and taper off slowly. You will be more likely to succeed by following these tips.

Cutting boards are one tool that almost every chef or family cook has in their arsenal of kitchen tools. Knowing the different materials and how to maintain them is very important to prolonging the cutting board’s life. We will talk about a few different types of boards and some of their advantages as well as disadvantages.

Wooden cutting boards are one of the most used boards in households today. People use them because that is what their parents used or because they are relatively inexpensive. An advantage to using a wooden cutting board is that they are very durable. They can withstand knife marks very well especially the wooden boards that are made of maple hardwood; the same material that butcher block countertops are made from.

The downside to wooden cutting boards is that they are not easy to clean. They cannot be put into the dishwasher with the other dirty dishes like plastic cutting boards. Because wooden cutting boards are porous they need to be sanitized with bleach and water to ensure their crevices are free of any bacteria.

Another drawback to using wooden cutting boards is that they require occasional oiling. Wood tends to dry up and crack. When this happens they need to be replaced otherwise bacteria can grow and contaminate any food items that you chop on the surface. Oiling can be done with simple cooking oil like poppy seed oil or linseed oil.

Bamboo is becoming more popular today. They are more durable and more resistant to bacteria than maple. The drawback to bamboo is its price. Since it is more expensive than maple it will be a while before everyone exchanges their maple board for a bamboo one.

Although wooden cutting boards are the most popular types of boards on the market that doesn’t mean they are the only ones. Plastic cutting boards are working their way up in popularity. It helps that plastic is easier to clean than its wooden counterpart. These boards can actually be placed in the dishwasher or washed by hand with dish soap and hot water. Plastic boards also offer a variety of colors, sizes, thicknesses and prices so that anybody can find a cutting board that fits their décor or budget.

The last type of cutting board that we will talk about is one that is made out of corian. Corian is a material that is used in kitchen worktops but because of its hard surface has made its way into the realm of cutting boards. This type of board is non-porous so unlike wood it doesn’t have tiny holes for bacteria to hide in making corian boards easier to keep sanitized. The biggest drawback to a corian cutting board is that it is more expensive than most boards on the market.

Choosing a cutting board doesn’t seem like it would be that intense of a decision but as we have seen there are many different types that fit various needs. The most important thing to remember is that whichever board you choose that it should be properly maintained and regularly sanitized to kill any bacteria that may try and grow on the surface.
