When I got into affiliate marketing, it took my first website just a little over a year until it started making money. I worked on it on the side when I had time. My second site, which has turned out to be the one to make enough money I could quit my day job, took nearly two years to start making money with affiliate programs. 7. Become part of the Internet marketing community and interact with other people in the business. If you do this, you will get great ideas, find out about new technologies and tactics and you will get tips here and there as well.
8. Remember that if you made it big and got rich in one month than it would be worth it, but also remember that even if it took you a few years, it should still be worth it then as well.

It is not so much about the time you need to devote to Internet marketing to make money, its about the tools, resources and mindset that you go into the field with that will determine your success in the end. There is still plenty of money to be made online, but keep in mind that there is a bigger picture and try not to concentrate so much on the details when first starting out.
